Keramiek en theecultuur in Taiwan-Ceramics and tea culture in Taiwan

Terzelfdertijd met de tentoonstelling uit vorige post liep er in het Designmuseum in Gent een expo over de theecultuur in Taiwan. De theestellen uit keramiek en porselein die er te bezichtigen vielen waren bijzonder verfijnd en vaak gebaseerd op elementen uit de natuur zoals lotusbladeren, boomschors, enz.
Het eerste stel droeg de poëtische naam "Praten over schilderen-Sneeuw in de bergen":

At the same time of the previous post there was held another exhibition in the Designmuseum in Ghent about tea culture in Taiwan. The sets, ceramics or porcelain, were very refined and often used elements from nature like lotus leaves, tree bark and so on.
The name of the first set was like a poem: "Talking about painting-Snow in the mountains":







Bij het buitenkomen bemerkte ik in de etalage van het restaurant "House of Eliott", gekend voor zijn collectie modeparafernalia, deze mooie gehaakte handschoen. Als ik zoiets zie, krijg ik altijd zin om te trachten er een kopij voor mezelf van te maken. Sommige "ouderwetse" zaken hebben toch echt wel allure...

On leaving the museum I spotted a lovely crocheted glove in the window of the restaurant "House of Eliott", known for its collection of vintage fashion items. I am always tempted to try making a copy from these "old fashioned" things, they can be so glamorous...
