Phildar Bolero-Update
Het bolerootje vordert zo snel dat ik reeds aan het afboorden ben.
De rand bestaat volgens de beschrijving uit vasten met picootjes op regelmatige afstand; dit verhindert echter niet dat de boord behoorlijk omkrult, misschien wel charmant, maar uiteindelijk blijft er niet veel meer over dan een rolletje. Wat wel hielp is een groter aantal steken haken over de lange bocht en een kleiner aantal in de korte kromming, het resultaat was heel wat beter:

The Phildar Bolero is progressing so well that I am already working on the border.
The pattern consists of single crochet stitches with picots on a regular base; this did not prevent the border from coiling, which can be nice, but in the end you end up with nothing more than a roll. This was rectified by crocheting a larger number of stitches in the big curve and a smaller number in the shorter bend, the result was a lot better:



Als toemaatje een foto genomen na een winterse bui in de Bourgoyen, het plaatselijke natuurreservaat vlakbij de stad. Wat mij erg opviel was het contrast tussen het groene stilstaande water op de voorgrond en het blauwe open watervlak op de achtergrond:

As a bonus a picture taken after a snow-shower in the Bourgoyen, the local nature reserve close to the city of Gent. The contrast between the green stagnant green water in the foreground and the blue open stretch of water in the background, was striking:
