De tweede indicatie van de MS3 is beëindigd. Het belooft een weelderig patroon te worden, met een Oosters of een ethnisch thema. De opbouw doet mij een beetje denken aan die van een kelimtapijt.Voorlopig hebben we nog het raden naar het juiste thema...
Clue 2 of MS3 is finished. The pattern looks very luxuriant, I would bet on an Eastern or ethnic theme. The construction makes me think of that of a kilim. Till the end of August we can only guess at the real theme...



Mijn ongebreidelde fantasie ziet in het eerste motief een man met helm.
Is there a man with helmet in the first motif?


Mijn Inspectrice van Wol & Garen is gelukkig met mijn keuze (cfr. de opgekrulde voorpoot).

Mystery Stole 3-First clue

Het patroon van de Mystery Stole 2 was mij zodanig goed bevallen dat ik mij ingeschreven heb voor de KAL van de Mystery Stole 3. Eenzaam zal ik mij niet vlug voelen: er hebben zich al 6703 breisters ingeschreven voor deze KAL!
In mijn stash vond ik een anonieme bobijn superfijn garen in donkergrijs en ik kocht er lichtgrijze pareltjes bij van 2mm. De eerste "clue" is intussen afgewerkt en het patroon ziet er veelbelovend uit:

I was so pleased with the pattern of the Mystery Stole 2 that I entered the KAL for the Mystery Stole 3. I am not feeling lonely in this crowd: we are already 6703 knitters for this KAL!
In my stash I found an anonymous cone of very fine yarn for 2,5mm needles in a nice dark gray shade. I bought some matching lighter grey beads of 2mm.
The pattern looks promising:

Naar aanleiding van het dertigjarig bestaan van de Vlaamse Caledonische Society vond gisteravond een Schotse taptoe plaats op de Vrijdagmarkt, met deelname van 11 van de 15 bestaande Vlaamse pipe bands. Het was een groots en sfeervol gebeuren:
On the occasion of the thirthy years of existence of the Flemish Caledonian Society a Scottish Tattoo was held on the Vrijdagmarkt, with the participation of 11 of the 15 Flemish pipe bands. It was a great event, full of atmosphere:

Gentse grapjassen beweren steevast dat de man nagaat of het regent; een fikse bui kon dan ook niet uitblijven...sommige bands hadden lange regenjassen mee!
Some jokers say that the man checks if it is raining...therefore we got a sharp shower...some pipe bands wore long rain capes for the occasion!

Kiltkousen zijn best mooi. Het boek Folk Socks door Nancy Bush bijvoorbeeld bevat een prachtig patroon: de Highland Schottische Kilt Hose, heel mooi te bekijken op de site van Mustaa Villaa, op datum van 2007/03/02.
Er bestaat zelfs een speciaal boek over het onderwerp:Designs for Knitting Kilt Hose & Knickerbocker Stockings door Veronica Gainford.
Interessante breimaterie dus...

Kilt hose can be very nice. The book Folk Socks by Nancy Bush for example contains a beautiful pattern: the Highland Schottische Kilt Hose, to be seen on the site of Mustaa Villaa, under the date of 2007/03/02.
There is even a book on the subject: Designs for Knitting Kilt Hose & Knickerbocker Stockings by Veronica Gainford.
