Valais: breiwol en inspiratie-knitting yarn and inspiration

In Sion, principal city of the Swiss Valais, I visited a few times
Au Fil d'Art, a nice shop that has Lang and Rowan yarns in stock:

This year I visited
Jakob Wolle, an adress I found on several forums. The store lies in Susten, near the railway station of Leuk, with the mountains as a backdrop:

The store was immense, 2 floors filled with yarn:

This was the corner with the crochet and sock yarns:
I finally decided on some Swiss coton yarn in vert d'eau and pine green for a twinset and some fancy ribbon yarn in Louisa Harding style:

On the way home some knitting in public took place, here on the railway platform of Brig:
In the shop-windows a lot of inspiration can be found; I fancied these cushions in stranded knitting or these lovely crocheted toys by Anne-Claire Petit (the dachshund is quite funny):

But what was really a revelation to me was a Austrian fashion brand of hand knitted and embroidered items of a quality I have seldom seen: the website of Wolkenstricker is worth a visit. It is a pity that no kits exist to make these garments oneself!

that's a place I would really like to visit !!!...you didn't say how much time you spent there...touching, feeling, comparing the yarn ;-)

It had to be a quick survey because I had only two hours left before the shop closed...and they also had a nice selection of knitting and crochet magazines where I found a few Burda publications for lace knitting...

Quelle chance tu as eu de visiter Jakob ! Ca devait être fantastique.
