Ook de kousenliefhebbers zullen deze expo best interessant vinden. Zo is er een authentieke kousenbreimachine uit 1928 te zien:

Gentse feesten-orgelpunt

Voor mij toch wel een mooi einde van de Gentse feesten deze tentoonstelling in het Augustijnenklooster over Titia Bergsma, de eerste Nederlandse vrouw in Japan. Er waren ook magnifieke kimono's te bezichtigen die een treffend contrast vormden met de oude pandgang:
During the Ghent Festivities last month I visited a lovely exhibition in the Augustinian cloister about Titia Bergsma, the first woman from the Netherlands who visited Japan. There was also a display of kimonos in nice contrast with the old cloister:
Durant les Fêtes de Gand au mois de juillet il y avait une exposition pleine d'intérêt sur Titia Bergsma, la première femme néerlandaise ayant visité le Japon en 1817. En marge on pouvait admirer une collection de kimonos:

Naar kimono's kan ik blijven kijken omwille van de subtiele kleuren, de textuur van de stof, de compositie, het borduurwerk,...
Kimonos are remarkable for many reasons: the composition, the subtle colours, the texture of the fabric, the embroidery,...
Un kimono peut être magnifique pour des tas de raisons: la composition, les couleurs subtiles, le tissu lui-même, la broderie,...

De neogotische glasramen van het klooster waren al even kleurrijk:
